JORDAN & LEBANON
Feel the magic aura of the Middle East See old civilizations and enjoy extraordinary Mediterranean cuisines. Explore and relax at 3 seas: Mediterranean, Red Sea, and the Dead Sea. Discover the world wonder Petra, an ancient Nabataean city in the heart of Jordan’s sandstone escarpments, the jewel in the crown of the country’s many antiquities. Walk through the Siq to the Treasury, Petra’s defining monument. With sites flung over a vast rocky landscape and a mood that changes with the shifting light from dawn to dusk, this is a highlight which deserves a longer stay. The diminutive Mediterranean nation Lebanon is a fascinating nexus point of the Middle East and the West; of Christianity and Islam; of tradition and modernity. It’s a place where culture, family, and religion are equally important.

The small, harbor was once a thriving commercial center, where Lebanon’s cedar wood was shipped throughout the region in ancient times.
Byblos has extensive archaeological ruins which have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ruins range from Stone Age huts to a Roman theater to a Persian fortress and an impressive Crusader castle & the Roman amphitheater. The palace remained the emir’s residence until his forced exile in 1840, when the Ottomans used it as the government residence. It was declared a historic monument in 1934, and then began a restoration process. Since 1943, it has been the summer home of the president.
